Benoit Technical Tools: H2S Release Rate Adjustments
H2S Release Rate
Jun 26, 2026
Benoit Regulatory has developed an H2S Release Rate Adjustment tool to help operators complete practical release-rate calculations in a clear, consistent, web-based format.
H2S release-rate work is an important part of emergency response planning and regulatory compliance. Operators often need to evaluate how changes in well performance, reservoir assumptions, skin, net pay, pressure treatment, and wellbore configuration may affect release-rate estimates. The H2S Release Rate Adjustment tool is designed to simplify that workflow and help users organize the inputs required to support defensible calculations.
The tool guides users through the main adjustment steps and presents the results in a format that can be reviewed, saved, and exported. It is intended to support technical workflows where operators need a practical way to assess release-rate assumptions and communicate results internally or with supporting documentation.
The tool is part of the Benoit Technical Toolkit, a suite of web-based regulatory and technical tools designed for oil and gas operators working across Western Canada. These tools are intended to be simple, practical, and accessible without requiring enterprise software contracts.
Operators can access the H2S Release Rate Adjustment tool through the Benoit Technical Tools subscription page. Benoit Regulatory can also provide one-on-one support for release-rate reviews, H2S-related regulatory workflows, and emergency response planning requirements.
